Casting - Reid Technique

Does anyone know how to find David Reid of the “Reid Technique”?
This involves small scale use of ceramic shell casting.

Current searches indicate :

These don’t seem to work

He also has posted on the use of a domestic microwave to melt small
quantities of metal. Information on this can be found at:

MELTING METALS IN A DOMESTIC MICROWAVE. David Reid. The first
part of this Foundry Note describes a technique for using a
domestic microwave oven to melt… URL:

This works but I can’t trace the posting back. Probably due to
my ignorance

I believe he lives in New Zealand. I have seen more information
in 98 on the web on his use of small ceramic shell casting. I
believe I also saw another description of his development of a
microwave for melting metal. In my own way I lost it.

A description of his use of ceramic shell can be found in
“Jewelry Making Manual” by Silvia Wicks pages 138-139 This
goes back to the mid 70’s. Jesse

Jesse, There was discussion on this some six months ago. If not
on Orchid, then on Arts Metal. I did download and print the
entire series out. There was an intermediary who was responsible
for the material being online. I replied directly to him, but did
not get an answer.

I am not sure where I stored the download, hopefully someone
else has a better filing system. Teresa
