Casted vs. fabricated jewelry tumbling

Is a tumbler used for casted jewelry only? Or can hand fabricated
jewelry be used in it also? Is it better to use a tumbler or a

Either technique can be tumble finished. Cast pieces usually
require more cut down than fabricated pieces.

In my opinion, tumble finishing is healthier - you are not breathing
the polishing compound - and much less precious metal is removed in
mass (tumble) finishing.
