Can I reuse PMC pieces as silver for sand casting?

Hi folks,

I have taken a few jewellery classes over the last 6 months and have
ended up with some rather ugly PMC pieces in addition to a new love
of low tech gravity casting. I was wondering if it is possible to
melt my less than remarkable PMC pieces down and use them to cast
new designs?

Hi Laura,

Sure. the fired metal clay is fine or sterling silver (you didn’t
specify which metal they are), so go ahead and use those uglies any
way you would use other fine or sterling silver.

Yes, of course. It is after all, fine silver.

Your fired PMC is fine silver, so you should be able to remelt and
reuse it the same as sheet or pellets of silver of that grade.
