Elena was asking about cabbing with her Dremel. There’s a great
book that discusses all sorts of uses for the flex shaft,
including gem cutting/carving, and much more. Lots of photos,
and basic plans for a ring sizer, wax lathe, stone cutting unit
and a table saw, all powered by the flex shaft.
The book is The Flexible Shaft Machine - Jewelry Techniques by
Harold O’Connor. If I remember correctly, I think it was only
~$10 from Rio Grande (part no. 550-127). One of the better
values in books, if I do say so! ISBN 0-918820-05-7. Only about
50 pages, but large format.
