[Business] Bank card services?

Hi All:

Do any of you use the National State Bank Bank card Service.

I recently got a Nurit 2090 card swipe machine and the processing
company is this National State Bank Card Service, out of Denver CO.

I would like to know what you think of the service??? I was very
resistant to taking credit cards but gave in and I have had pretty
damn poor service.

Thanks for any any one has.

Cynthia - I’ve been taking cards for almost 6 years now, but do not
use a swiper. I use my computer, and enter the data by hand. It takes
but a few seconds to accomplish, and the last credit sale of the day
you just close your file on the bank’s computer, and get a run of
every transaction which you entered.

I do an “around the corner” deal; my business account is with a local
credit union, who does not process Visa/MC/Discover. My card
processor is a local commercial bank, who set up my transactional
account, and handles the movement of the electronic funds from the
card holders’ accounts, through their computer, to my account at the
credit union. It takes about 48 hours for the dust to settle, and
costs an average of 2.9% of the gross (including sales tax - rats!).
This is a larger fee than a swiper gets you, but I get to deal with
local folks, and if I ever have problems (very rarely) I can call a
person I know at the local bank for support. The worst part of the
system is the software itself, which only runs at 2400 baud. This is
not a major handicap as long as you have a 2400 baud modem; this is
required - we tried to use a programmable 56K flex modem, and the
software died.

Please let me know if I can help you further.

Hi there! If you have a Costco nearby, you can join up as an executive
member and use their merchant bank card services.worked so far for me
and their tech support is good.

Good luck

Jim, I take my swipe machine with me to the shows which are all over
the western U. S. so I have to have that kind of mobility and I
spent so much on the machine that a traveling fancy computer is out
of the question.

Thanks for your help though. I really appreciate you spending the
time to let me know how you do it.

Thanks,

Cynthia
