Browne & Sharpe

Hello Orchidians, Recently I wanted to order annealed steel binding
wire - the one we use to hold parts when soldering - from an online
Tool Store and the measurements were in B&S. Please does anyone can
help me to find out what would be equivalent for wire gauge 0.32mm
(0.0125") diameter in B&S 'cause even the customer helpdesk was
confused about this. I am sure that there are very good orchid
mathematicians out there to solve my query! Thanks and best regards
to all of you. JOSEPH TANTI

I think the nearest Brown & Sharpe thickness to that diameter would
be: 28 (wire) gauge which is 0.0126+ inch Joseph.

28 guage. most jewelry technique books have charts in the back
with comparisons. My info came from page 547 of the stuller
findings book. If you purchase findings:1-800-877-7777 great
company! Mary

0.3 mm = 0.0126 inch = B&S 28

0.361 mm = 0.0142 inch = B&S 27

Also, 1 mm = 0.03937 inch, so 0.32mm = 0.0125984 inch which is a
whole lot closer to 0.0126 than it is to 0.0125. And 0.0126 inch, as
noted above, is rounded out to 0.3mm and equals a B&S 28. (0.0113
inch = B&S 29)
