Broken Faro handpiece

I have been the happy owner of a Faro quick-change handpiece for my
flex-shaft (model 10D I believe) — until recently, when whatever
it is that grips the shaft of the attachment stopped gripping
sufficiently.

I am not sure where to send it for repair. Foredom has refused it.
Rio has told me to send it on in. Should I? A Google search for
"faro" did not reveal anything relevant, as far as I could tell,
regarding where Faro products might be serviced.

Anyone have experience with this type of problem? Any advice on Rio
as a repair service? Other suggestions?

Thankyou all,
Tracy in Boston

Faro is very popular in NY, Fl & CA. All parts are readily
available. We have visiting repair workers who walk around the
exchanges in NY fixing Faro & Badeco. Our Store does accept repairs
for Faro. Normally you have to send it in and we will contact you
with the cost and wait for your okay to repair.

“Faro USA” shut down earlier this year. You can send your handpiece
to Rio, but… you have choices. You can send it to others that sell
this handpiece such as Gesswein, Stuller , and Swest. You can also
send it to an independent repair shop such as MPG repair in MT or The
Jewelry Equipment Dr. in CO. I know these choices provid e good
service.
