Book on Craft Fair Booths?

Hello Fellow Orchidians,

This year I am hoping to venture into the land of the arts and
crafts fair. I have been working on a booth design and I’m wondering
if anyone out there has run across a book on designing a booth? (If
not, perhaps one of our writers would be interested in undertaking
such a resource?)

Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience. You are a
comfort, an inspiration, and such a tremendous resource! And thanks
for the fabulous Tucson dinner!

Some books cover booth design. How to Sell What you Make does and
I’m pretty sure the Wendy Rosen book on how to run a crafts business
does as well.

Check out back issue of The Crafts Report for articles by Bruce
Baker. If you can get to Indianapolis the first weekend in April,
Bruce is doing his workshop on booth design and one on jury slides.
They’re very good. The host is the Indianapolis Art Center.
www.indplsartcenter.org. (I can’t seem to find the event on the
website, you may have to call or email for details.)

The workshops are priced reasonably, and hotels in Indianapolis are
quite affordable.

Bruce Baker does a number of talks on booth design. He also writes
articles for The Crafts Report and has an audio tape with many booth
hints as well as general selling tips. You can purchase the tape
from the Arts Business Institute
http://www.artsbusinessinstitute.org/ServicesStore.html or from his
website at http://www.dbakerinc.com

If you get a chance to attend one of the ABI workshops or one of
Bruce’s individual seminars, it is well worth it.

Cheers,
