If you wonder why this prattle of "fossil fuel" is still around 

It’s still around because most scientists still think it’s the most
likely explanation. There has been some evidence supporting the
abiotic oil hypothesis, but no one has managed to use the hypothesis
to predict where oil can be found. That’s an important step in the
scientific method.

Couldn’t more with Leonid. Having worked in the energy industry, the
fossil fuel theory just doesn’t match reality. There are two wells
that currently are producing - one in Russia and one in the Gulf of
Mexico that are pumping and yet the reserves do not appear to dwindle
much. For those who take the fossil fuel theory as gospel, they
scratch their heads and try not to discuss it. Wouldn’t it be nice if
goldsmiths had access to a “gold mine” in their backyard that would
just go on producing and yet the reserves would not dwindle? Or would
it?
