I wrote a little while ago about my hard charcoal block tossing
embers, making popping sounds etc. It is still doing that, and now
I’ve managed to break it apart (didn’t bind it with wire) and am
finding that bits of charcoal are getting everywhere - on my brush to
paint on the flux, with large chunks often sticking to the bottom of
my pieces. I’m still happy with it as a heating surface, for fusing
Argentium, but need to find a better solution for containing it.
Would binding the block before using have prevented this problem
