Bird Cage Chain?

Hello all, A friend of mine recently returned from a trip to Italy
and is talking about a gold chain that she found there and can’t find
in the US. She said it was a bird cage design, and that doesn’t
tell me much. Searches on the net have been sparse in terms of
pictures, or supplies. Has anyone heard of it ? or know of where I
can find it ? From her description of it, it sounds like something
that is beyond my ability to make. Dan Dummer

I’ve made many yards of ‘birdcage’. Basically, it’s a ‘Byzantine’
pattern with a group of 4 links connected by 1 or more connecting
links. The connecting links can be then same size wire & link or both
can be different.
