Bezels and cabachons

Hi, all- I have seen a quite a bit of variation in cabachons when it
comes to the bezel. Some cabs are cut with a near-vertical bezel and
a sharp line of demarcation between the dome of the cab and the
bezel. Some have an angle to the bezel of 70 to 85 degrees, with
varying degrees of demarcation between the dome and the bezel. Some
have no transition from the dome to the bezel- the dome appears to
go continue the way to the bottom of the stone. I recently saw some
bracelets in which the bezel appeared to be vertical, and accounted
for perhaps 3/4 or more of the depth of the cab.

What angles and proportions do you prefer for the bezels of your
cabs, and why?
