I currently use Loctite’s Glass Glue, and while it is very, very
good, I am wondering if there is something else that works just as
well but is thicker, to avoid runny glue on my jewelry glass.

For glass, rhinestones, Swarovski crystals and even for real gems,
there is an excellent glue sold under the name of “Strass Adhesive
244”
You might take a look at the clear glues used to attach rearview
mirrors to car windshields. Your local auto store would be a place
to start.
