Beneath the Jewelry What Are We?

Dear Posters and Ganoksin community,

This post might not make the digest. It will at least reach the
source of our wonderful forum! That will be enough. With the events
of Sept 11, '01 in mind, I must recall that much mail I received
after that came from contacts made from a jewelry answer site where
I answer questions. The voice showed concern, care, hearts moved.

Why this post? I simply want to say, beneath the jewelry, the facts
of garnets taking soldering heat or not, how to do this or
that…beneath it all I am the optomist who believes we all from
where ever we live have shared values. We want security, we love our
families, we feel pain and enjoy the good times. Put us in a room
without any politics, nationality, ethnic background, etc. and we
pretty well stack up the same. We want a good life for our families
and for others.

A site such as Ganoksin proves in its own way the truth in what I
have said. I am grateful that such contacts may be had throughout
the world among many peoples in many countries. We have a common
interest here, certainly. Yet beneath that, perhaps there is more in
common than some realise. I am grateful for that chance to contact
and communicate with you, whomever you are, where ever you might
reside, in whatever circumstance is you homeland.

To all, I do wish peace and blessings for you and those you love.

Thomas. Not jewelry, just heart and humanity.

Thanks Thomas, for a heartfelt message, and I agree - I do feel that
the Orchid group is a sensitive and caring group. And yes, thank
heavens there is more to our lives than just jewelry. I was once
again reminded, reviewing the events of that dastardly day, that I am
most blessed and need not ever complain about even the tiniest of
things. But for the grace of God, there went I.

Dearest Thomas,

It is my sincerest belief that at the end of the day, jewellery IS
about heart and humanity. Nothing more - nothing less.

Thank you for taking the time to share a beautiful sentiment. Such
are the things that hold the world together through the triumphs and
tribulations.
