Anyone have plans on making a bench apron for sweeps? Are there
materials I could use other than leather?

I had to replace the apron when I bought my older/used bench and I
found some great faux leather at Jo-Ann Fabric. Its thinner and more
supple than pleather. & it was cheap! Its working great so far…
Its probably not as impermeable as leather or pleather, but I don’t
work with much gold and the fabric is cheap enough to just send the
whole thing to the refiners with the sweeps.

Leather is the best. Smooth easy to sweep up the filings and when
you Dario hot solder into it it will not melt or burn through. Don’t
know of any other material that will do that.
