Beehive kilns for granulation?

Hullo,

I have a vaque feeling that beehive kilns could/were/can be used for
granulation? Could some one tell me if this is correct and if so, who
stocks them!

thanks

You’re thinking of the JEC Ultra Lite Beehive kiln, sold at
jecproducts.com and by Rio.

Can be used for tiny enameling, firing metal clay and granulation,
in conjunction with a torch.

I have used my beehive kiln for kiln assisted granulation. I use it
with the torch and you have to really watch the metal surface or you
can overheat. I have two behive kilns, one about 6" diameter and the
other 9" diameter. I had one from an enameling set some 30 years ago
and gave it away…replaced it with about the same thing from Ebay.
I think you can use the same small kilns which are used for PMC.
Paragon makes one, I think. Donna in VA

I use one of these for Fine Silver or 22k Granulation. You do not
need a kiln for Argentium Granulation.
