Ban on irradiated topaz?

No. Not as far as I know - but the European market is quite
conservative. Most people will buy only pearls, emeralds, rubies,
diamonds and sapphires (blue.) That’s at both the high and mid ranges.
Cheap jewelry is different but you’ll find that people look at other
stones with great suspicion.

Tourmaline is becoming more popular but most retail store don’t carry
it. You will, for example, never find anything but the named stones in
an engagement ring. Topaz has a bad reputation for snapping and so
it’s unusual to see it in anything other than antique broaches.

Artist goldsmiths and their clients are a whole different ball game
however but there is a prejudice against all treated and created
stones.
