I've delved into Argentium sterling silver but, still have a lot
of standard sterling in inventory. I was thinking of
using/soldering standard sterling in places that I want to patina.
And applying a mask on the argentium parts before applying liver of
sulfur or other patina. Any thought or problems that anyone sees
with soldering the 2 together to do this?
There is no problem with using SS with AS. I think your plan makes a
lot of sense. Just remember to avoid using Hard solder, if
possible—pretty close to the melting temperature of AS.
