We all love silver (well most of us). No one can deny it’s pure white glow, great working properties for both fabrication and casting, Sterling is a “do anything alloy”. However, it has two lethal downfalls. Tarnish and firescale. Before it seemed like there was no good option, de-ox formulations were no good without the platinum group metals. With platinum group metals they grew too expensive. I may have found the perfect option, sterilite. It has additions of copper, zinc, tin and silicon. It seems be fine for fabrication, tarnish and firescale resistant, decently hard, not terribly expensive so all in all the perfect all around alloy, right?
Well that’s what I’m wondering…interested I hearing opinions or ideas about the ideal silver alloy.
