although I did not: What kind of education does one need to be an
appraiser for antique jewelry? I know that the auction houses such as
Christies and Sotheby’s employ such specialists, I just don’t know
what they have to do to qualify for such a position.
I suggest you look up the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers
for their (NAJA).
A degree in gemology is probably essential.
