Dear MJ, I am currently putting together an anodizing station, there
is a company called Caswell Plating located in New York, for about
200.00 you can orde r a kit, but be warned that it is not complete he
does send a book with it th ough (you can order the book without the
kit for 25.00) It looks like a scienc e project. I am a car battery, amp
meter and battery acid away from being complete, I haven’t tried to
color the aluminum yet, but there you have i t, also, I think it’s
east-west dye com who sells aluminum anodizing dyes ho wever any
natural dye (like procion) will suffice (so I hear). Cassie

G’day Mary-Jane; you can find some instructions in Tim McCreight’s
‘Complete Metalsmith’ pages 42 & 43. If you don’t have the book - I
strongly advise you to get it; it is one of the cheapest on the
market, and one of the easiest to follow. For more details he
suggests, “Artists Anodizing Aluminum” by David LaPlantz at ‘Press de
LaPlantz 899 Bayside Cutoff, Bayside, CA, 95524, (707) 822-6009’
Cheers, (PS; my spell checker wanted me to replace your name with
marijuana!!)
