Alloying my own solder

Hi Folks,

I have silver, copper and zinc, NOT cadmium, and am trying to alloy
a solder that has approximately the working characteristics of
"EasyFlo 45."

Any recommendations as to composition?

How about melting sequence? I’m guessing melt silver first, add
copper, melt, then add zinc in the most oxygen-poor way possible,
stir and pour quickly?

Suggestions?

Cheers

Look at both

and

The closest you will get without cadmimum or other metals is
probably Ag 45% Cu 35% Zn 25% this will have a slightly higher
melting point and flow point.
