Help, I have a client who wants small red lightning bolts attached to the surface of a pair of mother of pearl earrings I have cut the shapes out anodised aluminium that I rolled the aluminium to .2mm thinking thin would be best and I could glue them on with G.S. Hypo Cement but that doesn’t work.
I have considered painting them on but I’m not sure that would work
Has anyone got a better solution?
Catherine
I have never attempted to weld aluminum, but I have read that it can be done.
If you can weld posts onto the reverse side of your aluminum lighning bolts, you should be able to drill holes in the MOP to accept these “rivets”, and then epoxy the symbols in place pretty securely. Just brain storming

Just simply scuff up both the metal back and the surface of the mother of pearl. Use a good epoxy. Place the piece under a warm light bulb . Do not use 15 minute epoxy. It deteriorates faster.
