A sad day

Today my friend Carrie Adell died this morning.

She was an inspiration to me as a metalsmith and was the secret force
for allowing me to walk the path less traveled.

Thank you Carrie for allowing me the freedom to do things
differently.

You will be sorely missed.

Karen: Sorry for your loss. A friend who inspires in a rare and true
treasure. Carrie will live on as you in turn inspire and teach what
she gave you. True immortality.

My condolences.

Karen, I’ve always loved Carrie Adell’s work that I saw in Ornament
and Lapidary Journal. Her beads/rocks in silver and gold always looked
like she had managed to figure out some secret process to combine the
metals but still get the organic look. In the latest Lap. J there is a
piece by her in an ad so I guessed she was still actively working. Was
she ill?

Today my friend Carrie Adell died this morning. She was an

Such sad news! I had the pleasure of meeting Carrie on several
occasions and was repeatedly inspired by her unflagging enthusiasm for
our medium, her beautiful jewelry and that delightfully impish smile.
What a great loss.

my friend Carrie Adell died this morning.

i am deeply saddened by this news, and maybe this explains in part an
eerie state of gloom that has been hovering out here in this high
desert lately…

carrie was a friend and an inspirational force in my life and warmly
welcomed me in her home when i relocated here recently. kindly, she
was the first one to show up at my open studio in june and we talked
amid moving boxes and scattered tools. she opened up to me and i felt
honored by her friendship. a strong woman ‘from the bronx’ with whom i
always felt close kinship, in spirit above all.

i know now she came to say goodbye. so, in carrie’s spirit, let it be
a dancing one. soar high my friend.
