A rather emotion response to Orchid

Some of the members may have noticed my absence from the Group. Almost
exactly two weeks ago I got diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas -
usually rather nastily fatal. It was caught in time, I’ve had a major
operation (Whipple’s procedure) and I’m back at home with my
significant other. The tests have shown that it did not spread and all
my surgeons say I’m the luckiest guy they’ve ever seen! I don’t even
need chemo!

It’s a tremendous relief to get back to my workbench and go through
the old routines - even though I get exhausted after a couple of hours

  • I sometimes find myself overrunning with tears of delight just
because a blob of solder won’t run! It’s a very weird place to be.

Orchid was part of the normal world before I got waylaid by cancer
and it too is a delightful garden to go for a walk in!

If I wasn’t agnostic I’d wish a blessing on all of you!

Tony, all the blubbering aside, welcome back to Orchid and, while we
have never met, I wish you the best and a happy long life.
