Hello,

Please help me with my novice question. I am going to cast a pendant
for a customer using his 10k white gold rings. One has some plating
on it in yellow gold. Is it necessary to remove this from the metal
before casting?

No. just make sure the yellow portion actually is just plating, not
a seperate piece of metal (which you should remove, if that’s what it
is). If the yellow is just plated, it amounts to so little actual
metal that it shouldn’t affect the color of the white gold.

No. Remember, all gold is yellow.
