.950 findings for PMC

In the new CeCe Wire book, “Creating Metal Clay Jewelry”, one of the
projects specifies .950 eyelets. Does anyone know where these can
be purchased? Thanks. Allison Vezeau

At one time Chris Darway was manufacturing and selling .950 findings
and wire, but now because of the lower firing PMC’s you don’t really
need to use .950. However, you can contact him for more information
at Darway Designs in Lambertville, New Jersey by phone at (609)
397-9550. Have fun with the projects in CeCe’s book!

You guessed, it Rio Grande. These are little fine silver loops with
a leg that you can push into the clay. Rio sells two styles, wire
loop and the eyelet. Chris Darway recommends roughing up the metal
first to ensure a better grip by the clay.

Art Clay (www.artclayworld.com) offers a wider array of fine silver
findings, but they are very expensive.

While we’re on the subject, for those who might not know, you can’t
imbed sterling into PMC, the sterling turns brittle and breaks.
