3D Wax printer

Hello

I am looking at purchasing a 3D wax printer. Apparently Solidscape
is the best. I have been quoted a price around US$45,000. I had heard
they had come down alot in price. Has anyone bought one recently and
is this price about right. Are there any other brands worth looking
at. I need a machine that can handle up to 20 waxes every 24 hours.
Any other you can offer would be much appreciated.

Phil,

Are there any other brands worth looking at.

There is a comparative review of CAM machines in the current (4/06)
issue of AJM magazine. The article addresses both additive and
subtractive machines. And FYI, the price listed for the Solidscape
T66 Benchtop2 is $39,900 US.

Hi Phil,

The current issue of AJM magazine (ajm-magazine.com) published by
the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers in the US has couple of very
good articles on CAD/CAM. It includes a comparison of several of the
units your describing.

I can’t answer your question, but this link:

http://www.desktopcnc.com/hard_pg.htm

has a comparison chart of various machines, plus links to pages. I
have been looking at desktop machines, and the ones I’ve been looking
at are more like $2,500-$4,500 ---- $45,000 solidscape is a lot of
machine…

There are links for 3 3D printers in our company’s website

by our customers (we provide 3D computer design services to
customers when they have own printers). Anyone will meet your

Dear Phil,

I worked with the Solidscape machine while getting my
Rapid-prototyping certification at the University of Washington. It
is an excellent machine. The Technical Instructor there is James
McMurray. He research a lot of machines before choosing the
Solidscape. You can contact him at mcmurray@u.washington.edu

we use the Invision HR from 3 D Systems Our vendor is Cadblu out of
NYC, they are very knowledgeable we have been very happy with it You
can easily print 20 models overnight We have used every technology
out there and for ease of use, model quality and speed this has been
wonderful for us the models are strong, and non porous and can be
cast or molded It costs bit more than other technologies.
