A friend of mine wants to buy 3D printer to manufacture models in
wax for casting.

Look at the one that MJSA featured in a product showcase recently.
It’s resin, not wax, but it’s castable, if I’m remembering
correctly.

There are half a dozen that produce resin models, with good to poor
castability.

As far as wax printers, there are two vendors, Solidscape and 3D
Systems.

I have a Solidscape T76+, and it’s a solid machine, but a bit more
than I need. I’ve been thinking about downsizing.

Just thought I’d mention. There is a project on Indiegogo, Mini
Metal Maker, which uses any metal clay (or ceramic) to produce the
end product. This machine is in prototypical stage, but the project
has reached it’s goal (actually it surpassed it).

Bill Struve, who developed BronzClay and CopprClay, has been
experimenting with 3D printing for metal clay, but I don’t know what
equipment he has used.

Oy, the world is moving so fast,
