18K Pd/Wht solder

“Hoover & Strong has an 18K Pd/Wht solder that has a melt point of
1785 degrees and a flow point of 1840 degrees. It does an excellent
color matching job in this metal.”

Watch out! This melting/flow point is higher than the melting point
of most gold alloys—even standard 18K ones (1652-1900 degrees)!
Wouldn’t use it on any piece that includes parts made from alloys
other than the particular one H&S sell it for, unless you know the
melting point of your alloy!

Still hoping to hear from someone who has had experience with white
gold solders with melt/flow points lower than 1310/1450F.
