18K Gold alloys that takes a black rhodium

Does anybody know which of the 18kt gold alloys takes a black rhodium
finish the best? The base gold color is not important. Just the final
black finish.

Have no idea, but I do have a question… why?

The reason I ask, is that I put black rhodium on a brass half round
wedder (it was a class exercise). It made the bit of brass look more
than it was.

Just trying to understand why changing the appearance of 18k to look
like something else? It’s a noob question, I’m a student, and just
wondering if it’s something I’ve missed :wink:
