I recently moved from the city to a more rural setting and lost
access to a workshop where I was able to cast and create sheet and
bezel. I don’t currently have the capital to obtain the equipment
necessary, but have been unable to locate a source for high karat
gold bezel. I’m hoping to be able to find source from which I can
obtain silver also, including sheet, bezel (fine silver), tubing,
etc. Any recommendations? I’m also not sure how to reclaim scrap
now. Is there a service that can take scrap and either pay for it
or use it for creation of sheet, etc.? I appreciate any help.

metal needs. Allcraft in NYC provides an excellent granulating 22k
gold. Hoover can also refine metal for you and credit you towards new
material.

selection of bezel strips , sheet, wire and tubing in several shades
of 18k and 22k. They also carry a wide selection of seamless ring
blanks, in all shades of 14k, 18k, 22k and sterling silver. They
carry a full assortment of sterling mill products as well as
reticulation sheet in 80/20 silver, 14k yellow, green, pink, 18k
yellow, royal, and pink. They even offer a pecial 22k alloy for
granulation in sheet, wire, tubing and casting grain. I really
appreciate the fact that their rectangular wire is actually drawn
through a die, rather than just sheared from a sheet, so the edges
are at ecactly 90 degrees.

Mark, I get my 22k bezel wire from Hauser and Miller Co. You can
get it in 2mm, 2.5mm, or 3mm width which is great, less waste. They
probably have other widths as well but those happen to be the widths
that I use. Their toll free # is in my studio, but you could call
