I am currently Artist in Residence at Liverpool Hope University on the 'Next Move' scheme, sponsered by the British Crafts Council and the Arts Council for England. Here, I use the workshops to create both sculptural and functional pieces in silver. I etch the surfaces of the metal with various marks and textures, and then oxidise in parts to create a range of tonal qualities.I’m interested in capturing the kind of vivacious marks I can make on paper on to the more permanent and deliberate metal. The marks echo traces of human contact and errosion found on decaying architecture, one of my main sources of inspiration. I've been using ganoksin as a resource for technical information for two years now, and would now love to join the discussions. What a wonderful opportunity to make contact with makers from around the world!; http://rebeccagouldson.co.uk
