For the last three years I have been learning how to silversmith -- working obsessively at a battered jeweler's bench in my apartment. During the day I work for Desert Gems, a Lakewood, CO, bead and mineral business. Once home I do repairs or custom silversmithing for folks who visit the store. My favorite activity is to learn everything I can about design. I clip images from fashion magazines and study the work of artistic jewelers every night.
