Victoria Lansford creates one-of-a-kind wearable pieces of art and art objects that recall the mystery and splendor of the ancient world, yet bring forth her own provocative vision. With 18 years of comprehensive exploration in the medium of metal she has pushed the boundaries of design and execution in many old world techniques, including Eastern Repoussé, Russian Filigree, Chain making, and Granulation. A long time educator in the visual and performing arts, she is committed to preserving the knowledge of the past by passing down ancient techniques through ongoing classes, workshops, and various media publications throughout the U.S. Victoria's award winning work has been showcased in multiple issues of Art Jewelry Magazine and featured on HGTV’s 2007 season of That’s Clever. She served as head of the Jewelry and Metalsmithing department at Spruill Center for the Arts in Atlanta from 1997 to 2004, creating its comprehensive program and has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Her first instructional DVD, Metal Techniques of Bronze Age Masters: Russian Filigree was released in December, 2006. Formerly a professional jazz and modern dancer, this Renaissance woman continues to perform and choreograph, and works in many media, including drawing, painting, collage, and photography. Victoria’s work is available in art galleries throughout the US and through her website. She lives in Atlanta with her son, Skyler.; http://www.victorialansford.com Victoria Lansford
