hey im a jeweller for twenty years.traditionally trained in australia by my family that includes four other jewellers. I can set, engrave and handmake.I live in Nz now with my daughter and wife. I dig surfing ,playing music, and sailing. I got disorientated with the trade for a few years because of its scam nature. But i guess its realy what im good at so id like to think i can give advice maybe and learn some new things .i can work in platinum ,make clusters wire work etc and get a kick out of making things fast. However i am hopeless at marketing so i am still after all this time working as a subcontractor(pretty sad huh)I have designed and made thousands of diamond rings and other items of jewellery all in the upmarket category.i have never received any recognition or thankyous from the customer who received these pieces but have watched my employers take all he credit and thousands of dollars while begrudgingly paying me an xtra 20 dollars for my time.just about every retailer i have worked for is like this, greedy pigs driving around in mercedes while i catch a bus form my rental flat .this has led me to pick fruit for a living crazy huh but i feel this is really a more honest way to make a living. hopefully things will begin to change as i make one last foray into the trade . ps sorry about the negative attitude but this where i was coming from pps I am happy in my family life and artistics pursuits that dont involve money; http://alchemyaotearoa.co.nz
