Hi my name is Orla, I was part of this very inspirational group a few years ago, when I had my studio. Unfortunately I lost my it and my spark due to personal circumstances. I packed it all up in boxes and left it to languish in my garage. I recently got access to my domain name again and things have snowballed since then. I was invited to attend an evening event with my jewellery and thought, why not? Its just sitting there gathering dust. So I went to the evening thinking, if nothing else it would be nice to see if people were still interested in my designs and if not, then I’d know for sure. My confidence took quite a knock and I was not sure how things would go. Well, I was in for a surprise. I sold a lot of stuff despite the event not being well attended and had loads of complements regarding my designs. That kind of lit a fire under me. So I went home and signed up for more events set up a business plan and started all the paperwork necessary. I attended the second event last week and oh boy! It was a big event and went even better than I hoped. I had a lot of interest in my designs, a lot of complements as well as interest in bespoke designs. I even had one client from the past tell me she had come to the show, just because she found out that I was going to be there. So last night I started designing again and though at the moment I will not be working full time on my jewellery, I am really excited to be back and hope to build up my business again.
