I am a 23-year old senior at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in psychology and peace studies, and planning to enter law school. I have always been a crafts nut, but until this year was never able to take any sort of art-related classes. After deciding to take some time away from Notre Dame (hurray for mental breakdowns!), I enrolled in an intro to metalsmithing class at the local community college, and have been obsessed since the first day. It's only been four months since I first picked up a saw, so I don't have many skills yet- in fact, I can't really do anything properly, but I am eager to learn as much as I can, and perfectly willing to practice techniques until my fingers bleed if necessary (although that's only happened twice so far).
