Hello, I'm new to jewelry making, and am looking forward to getting help and exchanging information here. My wife and I have owned Copper Coyote Beads, Ltd. for about 10 years. We focused on seed beads, and imported glass seed beads from Japan for a number of years. Because of various reasons, we want to get out of the bead business and focus more on jewelry. I do some lapidary, mainly cabs, and have been doing wire wrapping for the past year. I've never considered myself a creative type, but I enjoy making jewelry, and people seem to like what I make. I'm doing the Penn Foster jewelry course, which is giving me some basic info and skills. I'm also doing the GIA gemology courses. I've completed the AJP and the Graduate Diamonds programs, and am preparing for the Colored Stones test. Is there anyone here who lives in Tucson and teaches metalsmithing/jewelry making? I would really like to find someone I can work one-on-one with to learn silversmithing. Thanks! Steven A. Yaple; www.coppercoyote.com
