I’m an old ICU RN turned Nurse practitioner, turned full time mom to 13 year old twins. I was planning to return to work in my field when my special needs, but brilliant kids started middle school. The pandemic had other ideas. As I’m immune compromised, I started painting in oils to alleviate stress, it turns out I have a knack for artistry, heretofore unknown to me. I recently inherited quite a bit of broken, outdated jewelry, and in my quest to repair and clean it, I found it just as relaxing as the painting. Also, I couldn’t afford to take pieces to a jeweler for repair, so I started looking into repairing pieces myself, YouTube can be a great resource for DIYers. I landed a paid (I’m paying) apprenticeship with a local jeweler starting in 2 weeks. I’m excited to do something creative and beautiful.
