I am a big fan of the jewelers and creative artists. This started while I was working at 3M and was the marketer responsible for introducing the small 3M Radial Bristle Discs. 3M had other plans for me and I was soon doing other jobs but not in the creative arts industry. So recently I was given the opportunity by a company named Whitney Worldwide to start a Jewelry Division and I jumped on it. To date, I'm happy with the move even though the task ahead of me is large. I don't just want to sell supplies but am constantly interested in learning and creating new techniques and eventually maybe I'll produce a few pieces myself. My brief history reads like this. After High School I joined the USMC Air Wing where I worked on Life Support Systems for the Harrier Jet. After that I went to the University of Wisconsin at Madison and received a degree in Industrial Engineering with a computer emphasis. It was the computer emphasis that would shape much of what I did and my thirst for ever changing new technologyh. I learned desktop publishing, databases and these things opened new doors and jobs for a variety of people and organizations. After graduation, I moved to San Diego, CA and worked for Sony as a business planner and also technology expert for the vendor development area. After 5 years, I left San Diego for Minnesota and pursued an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Thus, bringing me back to the start of the story. 3M hired me out of the MBA program and recently moved to Whitney Worldwide. I have had great fun working in the creative arts/Jewelry industry. Someday I hope to be able to create unique pieces (that are good).; www.whitneyworld.com Whitney Worldwide
