Ive been a visual artist for 23 years. In my MFA degree program, I switched to sculpting. I’m now sculpting in wax. This decision came with a terrible price in July 2016. I was cleaning the floor before going on a several month long trek. The sculpture, more than six and a half ft tall fell and hit me in the head. I was knocked unconscious for a moment and had to get 4 staples in my scalp. The next day I was diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome. My memory has returned. But using my eyes intensely causes my ear to ring (its definitely a brain thing). Cant drive too far, like 2 open mic performances in one afternoon. But I’m still healing. I’ll never give up.
