I travel to Beijing twice a year to browse the flea markets for one-of-a-kind vintage stones, and I scour the pearl markets for colors and shapes not available in the US. I make my own jewelry [for sale at outlets in four states] and custom buy pearls for other artists. My business is small and growing slowly as I try all avenues to profit [bills must be paid!] My favorite activities are creating, meeting people and buying. My least favorites are paperwork, following up leads and doing inventory. I played with jewelry making/selling when I was in high school many years ago and have stumbled back into it through family relocations and job loss - funny how things happen.
