About six months ago my wife brought home a book on gems from a garage sale and thumbing through it brought back a deep seated hole in my knowledge. How on earth are gems cut? Well, six months later I am obsessed with cutting gems on my home made faceting maching and putting them to various uses including just filling a jewel case with them.
