My wife Ashley Carter and I founded Greenwood Studio as an extension of the artistic Community we live and work in. I'm a lapidary/jeweler with over 20 years experience- we follow the "old school" methods of cutting and fabrication- specializing in asymmetrical variations of innovative cutting designs. Inspiraton from natural phenomena and innovative use of materials are part of our design process: we combine the beauty of fine gems with the textures of fallen exotic woods, pottery, metal and stone in both fine jewelry and precious art. When not in the studio, I am a professional musician touring the US and Europe with the Celtic Folk Rock band Emerald Rose and Ashley is a research scientist at Emory University in Atlanta.
