I started in metal arts about 20 years ago through living history activities. I am the co-founder of LaBelle Compagnie a group dedicated to recreating the household of a 14c.English knight (www.labelle.org). Since everything had to be made by hand I decided to delve into making belts, purses and other dress accessories including, of course, jewelry. In short, I quickly became addicted to the study of late medieval/early renaissance metalworking techniques. I have little formal training, and am essentially self-taught; some of my work can be seen in the book "1381 The Peel Affinity" a book by the company (I am the stylishly red-coated Sir Brian). Although no longer active in the group I retain my love for the period's craftsmanship and aesthetic. Now, however, I am working on expanding my horizons. Very Best Regards, BB
