I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom, metalsmith. I used to be a paralegal in my past life…seems so long ago even though it’s been less than 3 years. I started my jewelry making “career” with hand stamping right after my father passed away in 2021. It was a way for me to occupy my mind and really helped with my grief. I quickly moved into wire wrapping when I saw the price of wrapped components that I knew I could do on my own. Last year (2023), around April, I decided I wanted to try metalsmithing. Since then I’ve been hooked. I still have my wire wrapping knowledge and continue to use what I learned (self taught via YouTube) in my metalsmithing today.
I’m currently on a mission to learn how to push engrave and make filigree pieces. I also have a YouTube channel which focuses mostly on helping people discover tool options that are not as expensive. As a beginner, budgets are pretty nonexistent but I didn’t see a lot of people talking about this so I decided to take it into my own hands and share what I have discovered while trying to get the tools that I needed (and wanted) with my tiny budget.
I have struggled to get my business really moving this past year and have decided to devote more time to developing a strategy this year.
