I am a pawn broker and I buy and sell gold and silver on a daily basis. I also take in scrap gold and silver, which is typically just broken jewelry. We usually send off the scrap to a refiner to be melted down, but I have set up a jeweler’s bench in the shop and I’m now training to be my shop’s bench jeweler so that I can repair what comes in and turn scrap into “not scrap”
