I am the director of education/senior instructor at the Jewelry Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. We teach courses ranging from 1 to 24 weeks. The topics we teach are: jewelry fabrication, stones setting, jewelry repair, hand engraving, bead setting & pave' retail pricing, labor costing, gemology, jewelry appraisal and jewelry design. I've been working in the jewelry business since 1980. I learned jewelry manufacturing and gemology from my Father and Grandfather. My grandfather learned watchmaking and jewelry manufacturing in Europe, My Father and I learned in the USA. Essentially I grew up in the back of a jewelry store. I received my GJ (GIA) in 1988, my GG (GIA) in 1989. I ended up teaching at GIA (Santa Monica, CA) from 1989 to 1995. I taught Gemology and jewelry Manufacturing.
