My Mum tells me that I started making jewellery almost before I could walk, giving family members necklaces made out of lego, stickle bricks and bits of wool. I kept it up as a hobby, and now that I have been selling jewellery professionally for about five years, I sorely wish that I had focussed more on jewellery, than studying for a 'proper' career. I started selling jewellery seriously about five years ago in the US, mainly commissions, and doing a lot of bridal work. I moved back to my home in Scotland after a year or two, and my business kept growing. I now sell my collections wholesale to shops across the UK and Spain (where I now live) and I am hoping that this is the last time I have to start from scratch, learning about pricing, marketing and styles for each different country and culture. I now mainly work with sterling silver and pearls, doing largely beaded work. However, the Spanish market are a bit more discerning and I am branching into white gold and 14kt gold, and starting to manufacture more and more. My goal is to launch my gold and pearl collection here in Spain in a few months, and am eager to be kept busy on a daily basis.; http://www.chimerique.co.uk Chimerique Jewellery
